Moving day is just around the corner. And it took so much preparation. There are so many things that you need to consider in order for it to go smoothly. Hopefully, you have arranged for high-quality services for your Toronto movers. Otherwise, you must be very experienced with the process so you have decided to do it yourself. Either way, one questions remains unanswered. One question that you didn’t really think of until the moving day came. It may be simple, but it also has different answers depending on different people and situations. What should you wear on moving day?
It is one of those questions you deem trivial. However, once it actually comes to the moving day, you might get yourself in a pickle. The things you wear on moving day should complement a variety of things. We will go through some, but most of them will depend on you. There are no right or wrong answers. At the end of the day, the move itself is what makes the highest priority. This is just something that can make it more or less convenient for you. We will use logic, and present a few scenarios we have had experience with. What was your experience like?
The most common advice that we give to our clients is to be comfortable. Moving day requires a lot of work. Moreover, if you are doing it yourself you will most definitely want to be as comfortable as you can. On the other hand, if you have hired professional moving services, you will work less. If you are still searching for moving and storage professionals in Toronto, we hope you end your search soon. But still, you want to be close to the moving site and be helpful in terms of advice and guidance. This sometimes means a lot of standing around or driving around, depending on whether you are doing a long distance or a short distance move. Either way, look for comfort. Comfortable clothes may vary from person to person, but the bottom line of it remains the same for everyone.
As mentioned above, moving day requires a lot of work and moving around. Depending on the weather, you will want to be as comfortable as you can, and as mobile, as you can. In most cases, where there is warm weather, people would wear shorts or some sweatpants, with a casual t-shirt or a sleeveless shirt. This will provide the most comfort. More importantly, in case your shirt catches on something and rips, or you spill something dirty all over it – you won’t regret much. Which brings us to the second point we wanted to make. Aside from picking very comfortable clothing, make sure you pick some cheap and replaceable clothing.
Most of our clients go as far as buying some second-hand clothing that they wish to use just for the move. This reason why they do this is that in case of an accident where the clothing gets damaged – they wouldn’t care about it. After the move, the clothing can be used for some budget home decorations, or simply as a cleaning cloth. Either way, if you decide to wear your favorite piece of clothing, and and you tear it, you will feel extremely sad. Make sure you choose something replaceable, and then you can at least relax on that matter. Any additional stress is not worth it, especially on moving day. So, at this point, our advice is to take some cheap and comfortable clothes to wear on moving day.
You have no idea how many items you are going to have to carry on your person during the move. Additionally, you might always decide to do some last minute repacking, or just take something initially packed in order to keep it with yourself. These things happen all the time. This is why it is an absolute blessing when you have some pants with a lot of pockets and places to store things. You will find this to sound trivial at first, but when you are in a situation where you need a bunch of pockets – you’ll be very happy.
As life may have it, sometimes you might not get the best moving day you would normally hope for. For instance, you might be moving in the middle of a working week, while being employed by a demanding job. In this case, you will most likely have to move back and forth between work and the moving site. In this specific scenario, fully comfortable clothing might not be something you wear on moving day. Thus, we advise for you to have some backup clothing in your backpack, so that when opportunity allows – you change your clothes. It will be a blessing once you do. But if you don’t get a chance to do it you will have to go through it as is, since there is no workaround for it.
Moving day brings an endless amount of potential accidents. This is why the chances of you not tearing or ruining are practically equal to zero. In these unfortunate events, we highly recommend that you have a backup stash of clothes. You never know when something will get spilled, or you catch your shirt on a doorknob or a loose nail. You don’t want to be left in rags for the rest of the day, which is why it is always smart to pack up an extra piece of clothing somewhere. So, grab a backpack, pack an extra t-shirt and a pair of shorts, and regardless of what happens, you will be fine.
